Finding the perfect Twin Size bedding for your child is a lot easier than finding Twin Size bedding for an adult because the designs and colors of this size of bedding is usually made more for a child than an adult. If this is the case than you would have to switch it up a notch. Maybe you have found the right bedding for your bed but aren't really sure if it will hang as you would like it to. Many people don't mind having a bed covering that reaches slightly beneath the top mattress but many of us do mind and that's when it is time to take out the old measuring tape. Duvet covers don't usually cover the box spring as a bedspread would but not everyone likes owning a bedspread. A duvet cover is much easier to take care of and also great for redecorating. Here are just a few suggestions that may help make shopping for a Twin Size duvet cover a whole lot easier.
A Twin Size mattress usually measures 39" Wide x 75" Long. A Twin Size duvet cover measures around 67" x 87". This bed cover will hang 28" in Width and 12" in Length from the mattress. In this case, you would need a bed skirt or an over sized flat sheet for your bed if you decide to purchase a Duvet Cover with these exact measurements. If you would like the bed cover to hang a little more, than you will need a larger size comforter cover. In this case, you will need to switch to a Full Size cover. Full Size duvet covers can measure around 76" x 87". The Full Size duvet cover will hang 37" in Width and 12" in Length on a Twin size bed. It will hang an extra 9 inches more in Width compared to the Twin Size bedding and long enough to cover the box spring mattress. If you are unable to find a Full Size duvet cover, then maybe its time to take a step further and try Full/Queen. Full/Queen comforter covers usually measure around 88"x 88". Which means that the Full/Queen bed cover will hang 49" in Width and 13" in Length on the Twin Size bed. It will hang an extra 21" in Width compared to the Twin bedding. This size is perfect if the bed is raised a few inches above the ground or if you like your bedding to reach the floor.

Note: Not all sizes are created equal. It is always a good idea to check the measurements of the bedding before deciding which one is right for you. Always make sure that the comforter is about the same size or 1 - 2 inches smaller than the comforter cover. For example, if you decide to purchase a Full Size comforter cover, always make sure the comforter that is going inside the comforter cover is about the same size or 1 - 2 inches more than the comforter. Also, If you decide to switch to a larger bed cover, please keep in mind that the fitted sheet will not fit properly onto the mattress. If this the case, you can always purchase fitted sheet suspenders or simply purchase an oversized flat sheet and not a fitted sheet.
